Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 28, On October 24, 2025, Unity China and Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer Leapmotor signed a strategic cooperation agreement, establishing a long-term partnership focused on next-generation intelligent cockpit systems. The collaboration aims to advance human-machine interaction (HMI) in vehicles by integrating perception, cognition, and predictive technologies to create more seamless in-car experiences.
The partnership combines Unity’s engine technology with large-scale AI models and biosensors to accelerate the development and deployment of multimodal interaction technologies across vehicle scenarios. This approach is designed to enhance user engagement, making vehicle interfaces more intuitive and responsive.
Leapmotor has become one of China’s leading NEV manufacturers, achieving significant growth. From January to September 2025, the company delivered approximately 396,000 vehicles. Some of its models, including the C10 and C16, already feature 3D HMI systems powered by Unity technology, highlighting Leapmotor’s focus on smart cockpit innovation.
Unity China has leveraged its experience in smart cockpit development to establish a competitive advantage in 3D HMI technology through its "Unity Engine Vehicle Edition." Key components, such as the URAS unified rendering system and App View architecture, allow developers to manage complex interface scenarios and visualization demands, offering automakers enhanced flexibility and performance in designing HMI systems.
Looking forward, Unity China and Leapmotor plan to expand collaboration on AI and real-time 3D technology integration within HMI systems. Their joint efforts will focus on shifting from manual input to perception-driven engagement, creating frictionless interactions that minimize user effort, and evolving from traditional multi-screen displays to fully immersive spatial experiences.
The partnership also aims to advance vehicle intelligence from reactive responses to proactive services, while building a unified technology foundation that connects in-vehicle and cloud-based systems. This integrated approach is intended to set new benchmarks in intelligent cockpit design and elevate the overall user experience.
Through this strategic cooperation, Unity China and Leapmotor seek to accelerate the adoption of advanced smart cockpit technologies, enhance vehicle intelligence, and redefine human-machine interaction standards in China’s NEV sector.
