Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 17, The New South Wales Government has released updated designs for the planned A$910m (US$596.22m) Rouse Hill Hospital, a key project intended to serve communities in north-west Sydney, Australia. The newly published designs highlight the main entry, an internal road system, dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones, landscaped green areas, and retail and café facilities for patients, visitors, and staff.

The community consultation will end on 10 December.

The hospital will be located at the corner of Commercial Road and Windsor Road. According to the state government, the project is intended to meet healthcare needs in a region experiencing a steady increase in population. Authorities expect to appoint an early works contractor in the coming months. This appointment will support site preparation activities prior to the start of full construction.

The State Significant Development Application for the main construction phase is currently open, allowing further progression of the project’s planning process. At the same time, the government has launched a community consultation to collect feedback on the hospital’s detailed designs. This consultation period will run until 10 December.

NSW Minister for Health Ryan Park said: “The Minns Government is now getting on with the job of building the health services communities in north-west Sydney need. The new designs show the Minns Government’s commitment to creating a state-of-the-art hospital that will service the growing north-west Sydney community for generations to come. ‘More hospitals, more beds, lower wait times. It’s as simple as that.’”

In August, the government selected professional services company Turner & Townsend to provide project management services for the development. HDR was appointed as the lead designer for the hospital, advancing the design process and refining the scope of the facility.

The planned scope includes an emergency department, a primary access clinic, birthing and maternity units, and inpatient beds. It will also provide day surgery services and medical assessment units, along with pathology, pharmacy, and medical imaging departments. Additional offerings include virtual care programmes, home hospital services, and rehabilitation facilities to support a comprehensive care model.

The design features a multistorey car park and is structured to allow future expansion based on community demand. The government noted that the project’s layout and service configuration aim to ensure flexibility as the region continues to grow.

NSW Planning and Public Spaces Minister Paul Scully said: “Rouse Hill Hospital will provide vital health services for north-west Sydney’s growing community. With increasing density in the region it’s crucial we get the delivery of this hospital right, so I encourage the community to have their say on the detailed designs.”
