Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 27, Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. has acquired a rare earth element (REE)-enriched system on its newly staked Chapiteau Property in central Labrador, Canada. The 647-hectare property, secured through map staking, is located 100 km south of the Strange Lake and B-Zone deposits and 38 km northeast of the Crater Lake scandium-REE resource.
Grab samples collected from 26 new mineralised zones returned values ranging from 1.02% to 8.34% TREO.
The area was previously explored by Midland Exploration in 2010–2011. Midland completed a 3,143-line-km airborne magnetic and radiometric survey that identified multiple REE targets. Follow-up prospecting and sampling of 81 rock outcrops and mineralised boulders returned values up to 8.34% total rare earth oxides (TREO) including yttrium.
Among samples exceeding 0.5% TREO, heavy rare earth oxide (HREO) content ranged from 2.29% to 12.85%. Individual element highlights include up to 8.22% cerium oxide, 3.38% lanthanum oxide, 3.39% neodymium oxide, 0.96% praseodymium oxide, 0.66% yttrium oxide, 0.35% gadolinium oxide, and 0.19% dysprosium oxide.
High-grade mineralisation is associated with iron oxide-rich pegmatite-aplite dykes and disseminated iron oxide clusters within an alkaline granite intrusion. The host granite forms a distinct 9-km-diameter airborne magnetic anomaly. Grab samples from 26 newly identified mineralised zones ranged between 1.02% and 8.34% TREO.
Noble Mineral Exploration, a Canadian junior explorer with additional interests in nickel and gold projects in Ontario, plans further evaluation of the Chapiteau REE system. The company also holds a stake in Canada Nickel Company and recently combined certain nickel assets northeast of Timmins, Ontario, into a new subsidiary, ExploreCo, under a July 2024 agreement.
