It is capable of transporting conventional marine fuels, 100% biofuels, and methanol, thereby expanding its service scope to a broader customer base.
The Hercules Harriet bunkering tanker employs a diesel-electric propulsion system, equipped with IMO Tier III-compliant generators and Schottel thrusters, with the potential for future upgrade to a battery-hybrid configuration. The hull is optimized for design, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and approximately 20% lower emissions compared to tankers using conventional fuels. This bunkering tanker has a length of 104 meters (341 feet), a beam of 19 meters (62 feet), a depth of 10 meters (32 feet), a deadweight tonnage of 7,700, a gross tonnage of 4,988, and a service speed of 10 knots.
In terms of cargo handling, the bunkering tanker features five cargo oil tanks and four slop tanks. Each cargo oil tank is independently equipped with a pump, allowing for the simultaneous loading and unloading of up to six different types of liquid cargo, enhancing operational flexibility and turnaround efficiency. The Hercules Harriet bunkering tanker was constructed in accordance with Portuguese flag state requirements and Lloyd's Register classification rules, complying with unrestricted navigation regulations. It is currently deployed in European waters, providing bunkering services to clients calling at ports across the continent.
