Wedoany.com Report on Mar 6th, Following years of high growth, the Australian truck market is showing signs of a sales slowdown in early 2026. Data from the Truck Industry Council (TIC) shows that truck and van deliveries in February reached 3,003 units, a 12.8% decrease compared to 3,446 units in the same period of 2025. Cumulative deliveries by the end of February totaled 5,467 units, representing a 12.2% year-on-year decline.
Market leader Isuzu sold 674 units in February, significantly lower than the 1,029 units sold in February 2025, with its market share dropping to 22.2%. The heavy-duty truck segment sold 977 units in February, a 12.7% year-on-year decline, with Kenworth leading the segment with 183 units, followed by Isuzu and Volvo in second and third place respectively.
In terms of market share, Kenworth held a 23% share by the end of February, followed closely by Volvo at 16.3%, and Isuzu at 15.9%. Scania and DAF rounded out the top five, with DAF's market share rising from 2.5% in 2025 to 6.5%, becoming a highlight. The overall slowdown in truck sales reflects a market adjustment, with ongoing competition among brands.
