en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 28th, According to Dangote Cement's audited financial statements, the company exported 970,100 tons of clinker to Cameroon and Ghana in 2025 via 34 ships, a 7% increase compared to 2024. Cameroon and Ghana accounted for 69% of Nigeria's clinker exports, with total clinker exports reaching 1.4 million tons in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 19%. This cement export business effectively supported the production operations of Dangote Cement's subsidiary in Cameroon.

Despite a 14% decline in local sales for the Cameroon subsidiary in 2025 and a drop in production at the Douala plant from 1.4 million tons to 1.2 million tons, the stable supply from cement exports maintained the operation of the production lines. Dangote Cement expects demand in Cameroon to improve in 2026, benefiting from ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Douala-Yaoundé highway and other road and bridge constructions. The company is considering expanding its production capacity in Cameroon, including expanding the existing Douala plant or restarting the long-delayed Nomayos cement plant project. This cement export expansion plan is part of a broader expansion across multiple African countries outlined in a $1 billion contract signed with Sinoma Engineering in February 2026.
The growth in this cement export business reflects the continued expansion of Nigerian cement companies in the West African regional market. By exporting clinker to neighboring countries via sea transport, Dangote Cement effectively leverages Nigeria's production capacity advantages while supporting the infrastructure construction needs of countries like Cameroon. This cement export strategy helps optimize the regional cement supply chain and promotes the integration of the building materials market within the Economic Community of West African States.
