en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, Cyprus-based shipping company Schoeller Holdings has recently placed an additional order for two multi-purpose heavy lift vessels at the Chinese shipyard CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. This new order continues the company's long-standing shipbuilding cooperation layout in China.

According to market sources, the two newly ordered vessels are 32,000 deadweight ton multi-purpose heavy lift vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2029. The cooperative relationship between Schoeller Holdings and this Guangzhou-based shipyard dates back to 2008, with approximately 30 vessels delivered cumulatively over the years. This additional order for multi-purpose heavy lift vessels further solidifies the foundation of their cooperation in the field of specialized ship types.
Schoeller Holdings' order history at Chinese shipyards covers various vessel types, from multi-purpose vessels to container feeder ships and offshore vessels, including commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) supported by Columbia Shipmanagement. This additional order for multi-purpose heavy lift vessels is the latest continuation of this series, following the company's booking of two similar-tonnage multi-purpose vessels at the same shipyard in April 2024.
The newly ordered multi-purpose heavy lift vessels will primarily serve heavy cargo transportation needs. CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has long-term experience in the construction of specialized vessel types, with a delivery record covering multi-purpose vessels, container ships, and offshore engineering vessels. Schoeller Holdings' decision to place an additional order at the same shipyard reflects a relatively stable cooperative model that has been formed between the two parties in terms of technical alignment and delivery pace.
As the global shipping market continues to have demand for specialized transportation equipment, the application value of multi-purpose heavy lift vessels in fields such as project logistics and wind power equipment transportation is gradually becoming apparent. Schoeller Holdings' order arrangement at the Chinese shipyard is part of its fleet renewal and capacity configuration.
