en.Wedoany.com Reported - Singapore-based AAL Shipping has recently taken delivery of a new heavy lift vessel from Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Named AAL Newcastle, it is the latest addition to its fleet.

The AAL Newcastle is a 32,000 DWT dual-fuel multipurpose heavy lift vessel, designed by CSSC's subsidiary Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute in collaboration with AAL and Columbia Shipmanagement, and complies with DNV classification rules. This vessel belongs to the same series as the AAL Hamburg and AAL Limassol, built in 2024.

This heavy lift vessel has an overall length of 179.9 meters, a beam of 30 meters, a summer draft of 10.3 meters, a depth of 15.5 meters, and a gross tonnage of 25,400. Its cargo capacity reaches 41,500 cubic meters, divided into two cargo holds, and it can accommodate 1,910 TEUs, including 35 reefer containers.

AAL stated that the AAL Newcastle features significant technical enhancements, improving lifting performance and cargo flexibility. A key improvement is the upgrade of a single crane's lifting capacity from 350 tons to 400 tons.

The next vessel in the series, AAL Mumbai, is expected to be delivered in June this year, further expanding AAL Shipping's heavy lift fleet.
