en.Wedoany.com Reported - Austria's Next Generation Recycling (NGR) unveiled its new Eco-Twin 220 co-rotating conical twin-screw extruder for the first time at K 2025. This conical twin-screw extruder model is specifically designed for processing PET bottle flakes and recycled shredder materials with low bulk density. The conical twin-screw extruder reduces electricity consumption by gently melting pre-dried feedstock and features built-in highly efficient degassing technology, enabling it to process a variety of recycled materials.

The drive section is equipped with two synchronous motors, transmitting power through a compact conical gearbox. This transmission design is common in applications with intersecting axes, allowing for an inclination angle on the output shaft and reducing the gearbox volume. By utilizing the synchronous motors' sensitivity to torque fluctuations, the system achieves precise feeding control. NGR also offers an optional condition monitoring solution for the gearbox, which continuously collects data on oil quality, lubrication status, cooling effectiveness, rotational speed, and vibration.

The Eco-Twin 220 is available in two motor specifications: a version equipped with two 285 kW motors achieves a maximum throughput of 4.4 tons per hour, while the model with optional dual 325 kW motors increases processing capacity to 5.5 tons per hour. A coupling housing is installed between the barrel and the gearbox to dampen mechanical vibrations. Both sides of the barrel can be swung open, facilitating quick screw removal and installation. Liquid or pellet additives are injected directly through the feed port.

The Eco-Twin 220's control system is built around a Siemens S7 PLC, with a 21.5-inch HMI touchscreen mounted on a wheeled base for flexible mobility, complemented by comprehensive audible and visual alarm functions. Additionally, users can opt for a high-performance degassing system.
