en.Wedoany.com Reported - Allies and Morrison has released new images of developer Great Portland Estates' (GPE) largest completed office project at 2 Aldermanbury Square in the City of London.

The project achieved practical completion in March this year. The 13-storey building has a gross internal area of 321,650 sq ft. It replaces the 1980s-built City Place House, which was demolished by Keltbray, with Bovis acting as the main contractor.
The building will serve as the new office location for law firm Clifford Chance. Four years ago, the firm reached an agreement to leave its Canary Wharf headquarters and return to the City of London, with the move planned for 2028.
Overbury is responsible for executing the £150 million fit-out contract, having secured the project after beating Mace last year.
GPE Development Management Director Piers Blewitt stated that the project is GPE's largest single office development, fully pre-let to Clifford Chance on a forward commitment basis. Its scale is almost double that of the previous building, featuring the highest sustainability standards and significantly improved public realm.
Allies and Morrison Partner Artur Carulla added that they sought to demonstrate how a commercial building on a constrained City of London site can deliver high-quality workspace, make a meaningful contribution to the public realm, and achieve industry-leading sustainability targets. A large-scale circular economy strategy, including retaining the existing foundations, using material passports, and committing to recycled content procurement, significantly reduced embodied carbon.
Other teams involved in the 2 Aldermanbury project include quantity surveyor Gardiner & Theobald, structural engineer Arup, project manager Cogent, and MEP engineer Sweco.
