en.Wedoany.com Reported - ST Digital and Togo's Digital Infrastructure Company (Société d'Infrastructures Numériques, SIN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a strategic partnership to provide private cloud services at the Lomé Data Centre.

SIN is a state-owned enterprise wholly owned by the Republic of Togo, responsible for operating the Lomé Data Centre (LDC). The data center has achieved Tier 3 certification with a Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 99.982%. ST Digital is an operator providing sovereign cloud services, sovereign artificial intelligence, and digital solutions, with software engineering expertise in the West African region.

The partners stated that the agreement is not merely a commercial collaboration but also reflects a national strategic goal: ensuring that enterprise data is hosted, processed, and protected within Togo, in strict compliance with Togo's personal data protection laws. The partnership also aims to establish the Lomé Data Centre as a sovereign digital hub, strengthening the local digital ecosystem by offering world-class cloud and artificial intelligence services at competitive prices, operated by a local technical team.

Key commitments and deliverables outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding include: deploying a private cloud service catalog based on LDC infrastructure for sale to enterprises and regional organizations; and simultaneously launching ongoing training and skills transfer programs in data center and cloud specialties, benefiting Togolese engineers.

This move also addresses data sovereignty concerns and the limitations many countries currently perceive in hosting data overseas. ST Digital Managing Director Justine Adebiyi stated that digital sovereignty cannot be achieved by decree but must be built. By partnering with SIN, ST Digital is committed to supporting Togo in implementing its digital transformation strategy. This strategy is regarded as a reference model in West Africa, under which data is locally controlled, engineers are at the core of innovation, and enterprises can access world-class cloud and AI services without compromising on trust or compliance.
