en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam Gas, or PV Gas) has issued a tender document seeking a spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo of approximately 750,000 MMBtu, scheduled for delivery between June 15 and June 30.

In the tender document, PV Gas requires suppliers to specify a two-day delivery window within the above delivery range as the final delivery window. The company launched the tender on Tuesday and closed it at 3:30 p.m. (Vietnam time) on Wednesday. This year, due to supply disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict, PV Gas has increased its LNG imports and has issued multiple spot LNG cargo tenders. Previously, PV Gas received two LNG cargoes from Brunei and Malaysia in early April, and one LNG cargo from Australia at the end of April.
PV Gas has recently enhanced the regasification capacity of its Thi Vai LNG import terminal. Test results show that the system can operate safely and stably at a rate of 288 tons per hour, exceeding the initial design capacity of 171 tons per hour, equivalent to approximately 9.5 million standard cubic meters per day. Vietnam's first LNG import facility was commissioned in 2023, comprising a 180,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tank, a jetty, and a regasification area. The facility supplies natural gas to the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 LNG power plants under Petrovietnam Power. PV Power commenced commercial operations of its LNG power plant in December last year. The total installed capacity of Vietnam's first batch of LNG power plants is 1.6 GW.
