en.Wedoany.com Reported - A survey by the Munich-based Ifo Institute shows that the adoption of artificial intelligence in the German economy has accelerated significantly. Currently, 54.4% of companies use AI software, compared to nearly 41% a year ago. Klaus Wohlrabe, head of the Ifo survey, stated that the momentum for introducing AI is strong.

The survey also indicates that large companies are ahead of small and medium-sized enterprises in adopting AI. According to Ifo data, over two-thirds (67.2%) of large companies already use AI, while the proportions for medium-sized and small companies are slightly above 47% and 51.2%, respectively.

AI is particularly prevalent in areas such as administration, data analysis, programming, letter processing, and information search. Many companies also use AI for planning, control, or customer communication. Wohlrabe noted that AI opens up new possibilities, especially for routine tasks and processing large amounts of information. Currently, AI is most widespread in the industrial sector, with a share of 58.7%. The Ifo Institute surveys thousands of companies each month as part of its economic survey framework.
