en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nutrien Wonderhub recently reopened its Discovery Mine elevator experience, which has been restored and enhanced by Team Power Solutions (TPS) and is now back in operation.

Located within the museum's Discovery Mine exhibit, the elevator experience simulates a journey one kilometer underground into a Saskatchewan potash mine. It features synchronized lighting, video, sound, voice guidance, and an opening and closing mine cage door to help visitors learn about the province's mining industry.

For several years, the elevator doors and core programming functions were out of service, creating a significant gap in this iconic museum experience. As a non-profit charitable organization, Wonderhub faced financial difficulties in restoring the complex system. Leveraging its experience in supporting underground potash operations, TPS decided to participate in the project, translating industry knowledge into content accessible for children to explore.

"We are incredibly grateful for Team Power Solutions' generosity, expertise, and belief in the importance of hands-on learning experiences for children," said Leah Brodie, CEO of Nutrien Wonderhub. "This project has transformed a long-missing component of the Discovery Mine exhibit into an experience that is more immersive and educational than ever before. Partnerships like this have a tremendous impact on our organization and the families we serve."

Team Power Solutions not only restored the original system but also enhanced the experience. New features include traffic lights and voice guidance to improve visitor flow and accessibility; audio stories about mining and its impact on Saskatchewan; and a smart fault-tolerant system equipped with remote monitoring technology, designed to enhance the system's long-term reliability and ease of maintenance. Braydon Fetter, Manager of the Automation Department at TPS, stated that by introducing real industrial technology into a public environment, the team created an immersive experience that brings underground mining to life.

The project also received support from TPS partner Westburne. TPS stated that this initiative aligns with the company's goal of helping children understand the industries that shape Saskatchewan and building connections between families and underground operations. The Discovery Mine elevator experience is now open to visitors and is included in Wonderhub memberships or admission tickets.
