en.Wedoany.com Reported - Russian transport operator Vodohod has taken delivery of a new electric river ferry built by local shipyard Emperium.

The Pushkin (Пушкин) belongs to the Project EM901 or Moskva 2.0 series of river ferries. Built as an improved version of earlier diesel-powered vessels that operated on Russia's inland waterways during the Soviet era, the hull has been widened by 2 meters compared to earlier ships to accommodate more space.

The ferry is owned by the State Transport Leasing Company.

The all-weather capable Pushkin features an ice-reinforced hull, with an overall length of 32.15 meters, a beam of 7.8 meters, a draft of only 1.3 meters, a displacement of 159 tons, a crew of three, and a capacity of up to 140 passengers on two decks.

The builder stated that the vessel's design combines comfort, modernity, and aesthetics, aiming to provide a pleasant atmosphere for passengers on every journey. Therefore, the interior uses high-quality materials combined with the natural textures of wood, metal, and glass.

A 550 kW battery pack drives two 200 kW azimuth thrusters, achieving a maximum speed of 10 knots and a cruising speed of 6.5 knots. With a fully charged battery, the vessel can operate continuously for up to 7 hours, running up to 7 trips per day on the Neva River and further into the Gulf of Finland.
