en.Wedoany.com Reported - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium-Magnesium Plant (UKTMP) issues related to the enterprise's sustainable development, implementation of investment projects, and strengthening Kazakhstan's position in the global titanium market.

Olzhas Bektenov discussed the development of Kazakhstan's titanium industry with UKTMP Board Chairman Sylvain Geler

UKTMP is one of the world's largest vertically integrated titanium producers, covering the entire process from raw material extraction to finished product manufacturing. According to the 2025 performance report, the company sold 12,000 tons of titanium products, with sales revenue of approximately 87 billion tenge. Titanium ingot and alloy production is expected to increase by 7% this year. Its products are used in aerospace, petrochemical, nuclear, medical, and shipbuilding industries. Kazakhstan's titanium holds about a 20% share of the global aerospace market.

The enterprise is a supplier to leading international companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Safran, Rolls-Royce, TIMET, Howmet Aerospace, Dynamet, PCC, and POSCO. The investment plan through 2033 has attracted attention, comprising 25 projects with a total value of 255.5 billion tenge.

Specific measures include constructing a new porous titanium production workshop, increasing the plant's design capacity by 10,000 tons per year; modernizing gas purification equipment; implementing a unified Manufacturing Execution System (MES); and launching an artificial intelligence analytics platform for analyzing production data, energy consumption, process control, and industrial safety. These projects will help reduce production costs, improve energy efficiency, and expand capacity.

The meeting also discussed ensuring raw material supply, developing international industrial cooperation, maintaining export potential, and enhancing the competitiveness of titanium products in the global market.

The Prime Minister noted that the enterprise's development aligns with the tasks set by the Head of State to strengthen the manufacturing sector, produce high-recyclability products, and integrate Kazakhstan into global industrial chains.
