en.Wedoany.com Reported - Lessor Azorra has completed the reconfiguration of seven former EgyptAir Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with the last one delivered to U.S. operator Breeze Airways.

Among these aircraft, one was previously leased to Cyprus Airways. The remaining four aircraft have been allocated to DMS, the used parts subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, for dismantling. Azorra acquired these 12 aircraft in February 2024.

EgyptAir introduced the A220-300 in 2019, but technical issues with the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines on this model led to the grounding of several aircraft.

Azorra CEO John Evans stated that the company has been cooperating with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney in handling the EgyptAir fleet transaction. He noted that the A220's economics, performance, and passenger experience create significant value for airlines, and the former EgyptAir aircraft are expanding Azorra's A220 business portfolio while also helping to address the challenge of shortages in critical spare engines and parts. Azorra currently operates 28 A220s, including those directly ordered from Airbus.
