en.Wedoany.com Reported - The federal government of Pakistan is advancing a plan to digitally supervise and coordinate ministries through an AI-driven platform, aiming to enhance transparency, accountability, and public service delivery.

During a related meeting, attendees were briefed on a sovereign AI-based GPT-powered research tool developed by the Pakistan Digital Authority. According to the briefing, the system integrates past directives, official orders, and policy decisions to support internal government research, accelerate institutional knowledge acquisition, and assist decision-makers in making more informed judgments.
Following a live demonstration, officials from the Pakistan Digital Authority stated that the PMOS platform will allow the Prime Minister's Office to issue directives directly to ministries and departments, while decision-makers can track project progress and monitor execution performance in real time through a single digital dashboard.
The platform features built-in automatic reminders: if a task remains overdue, the system sends pop-up notifications to federal secretaries and other responsible officials. This mechanism helps strengthen task tracking and ensures timely implementation of government directives.
According to officials, the GPT tool will serve as a virtual assistant for government officials, capable of understanding official procedures and workflows, and leveraging AI to assist officials in completing assigned tasks, thereby improving work efficiency and public service output.
Cheema acknowledged the progress made by the Pakistan Digital Authority in developing the PMOS and instructed all relevant parties to further refine the platform before its full-scale rollout.
He noted that the country is moving toward an AI-based digital governance framework. By enhancing inter-ministerial coordination and expanding digital integration, the PMOS will serve as a key pillar for the implementation of the National Digital Masterplan.
The minister added that citizen-centric services delivered through platforms such as Asan Khidmat Markaz and other digital initiatives will benefit from an interconnected government ecosystem. Technology-driven solutions, including the digital tax enforcement system, will continue to expand as key components in building a more efficient and accountable public sector.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, IT Secretary Zarar Hashim Khan, Pakistan Digital Authority Director General Sohail Munir, and several senior government officials.
