The funding comes from a total capital increase of €39 million, involving SETT and private investors, as part of a public-private cooperation strategy to accelerate the growth of strategically significant technology enterprises.
Headquartered in Madrid and Talavera de la Reina, Substrate AI has become one of the few European companies with its own AI patents. The company currently serves over 500 clients across sectors such as healthcare, industry, and technology, with a workforce of more than 200 professionals. It has developed a suite of solutions, including a platform for creating and managing intelligent agents, as well as a proprietary cloud computing infrastructure project currently in the deployment phase.
One of Substrate AI's key differentiators is the integration of the entire technology chain into a single platform. Its architecture combines four functional modules: agent orchestration, governance and compliance, data security and residency, and integration with enterprise systems. Through this capital increase, the company aims to enhance its competitiveness in areas such as intellectual property, data sovereignty, and the development of AI technologies in line with European standards.
According to Spain's Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function (Ministerio para la Transformación Digital y de la Función Pública), this integrated approach helps address a major obstacle organizations face: transforming AI pilot projects into fully operational applications in production environments while meeting requirements for security, traceability, cost control, and regulatory compliance. The platform also enables businesses and governments to incorporate AI into their processes while adhering to the upcoming European AI Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a critical factor as Europe advances its regulatory framework for the technology.
Substrate AI is also active in the healthcare sector. The company is promoting a hub focused on medical AI in Talavera de la Reina, a result of collaboration with the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha (Junta de Castilla-La Mancha) and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha). Additionally, Substrate AI is participating in a project with the Research Foundation of the Valencia General University Hospital Consortium (Fundación para la Investigación del Consorcio Hospital General Universitario de Valencia) aimed at transforming hospital pharmacy management, using AI algorithms to improve patient access to medications and optimize dosages.
