en.Wedoany.com Reported - The International Tin Association (ITA) announces that the London Metal Exchange (LME) has granted full approval to the Tin Industry Code of Conduct Standard 7.3 Responsible Sourcing Track A, using its Tin Assessment Criteria for evaluation, in compliance with LME Track A responsible sourcing rules.
This approval is based on an independent conformity assessment conducted by LME-recognized assessor Kumi Consulting Ltd. The assessment confirms that the policies, standards, and implementation of the Tin Industry Code of Conduct are "fully aligned" with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
With this, the Tin Industry Code of Conduct Standard 7.3 becomes a fully accepted Track A verification pathway. Tin smelters can demonstrate their responsible sourcing in line with international expectations through a unified, standardized, and independently verified program.
Standard 7.3 provides independent third-party verification of key due diligence controls, including country of origin verification, risk identification, and mitigation processes. Verification conclusions are supported by transparent reporting, forming a clear and transparent performance rating.
For downstream users, the Code enhances access to verified responsible sourcing data, supporting procurement decisions, regulatory compliance, and improved supply chain transparency. Relevant verification reports are available online.
Additionally, LME passport directly links inspection reports and broader Tin Industry Code of Conduct ESG disclosures to metal brands, creating a digital record that enhances traceability and accessibility of verified documents.
This approval further affirms the Tin Industry Code of Conduct as a practical responsible sourcing verification program, aligned with OECD and international expectations, supported by recognized verification standards and digital reporting tools.
