en.Wedoany.com Reported - Statcon Energiaa Pvt Ltd has received an order from L&T Electrolysers Limited to supply high-power rectifiers for India's largest green hydrogen plant, located at Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOCL) Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana. The green hydrogen facility, with a capacity of 10 kTPA (10,000 tonnes per annum), is being developed by L&T Energy GreenTech and is scheduled to commence operations in December 2027.

This project is a key component of Indian Oil's plan to achieve 350 kTPA (350,000 tonnes) of green hydrogen by 2030 and is considered one of India's first large-scale refinery-linked green hydrogen projects powered by domestically manufactured electrolysers. L&T Electrolysers is producing 4 MW modular high-pressure alkaline electrolysers at its Hazira facility in Gujarat.

Statcon Energiaa will supply matching 4 MW rectifier modules to power these electrolysers. The rectifiers employ IGBT chopper-based technology, with technical support from Germany's AEG Power Solutions GmbH. Under the agreement, Statcon Energiaa will design, assemble, commission, and maintain the systems in India using proven core components, while adapting them to local operating conditions.

These rectifiers utilize a thyristor-based 12-pulse bridge with IGBT choppers, equipped with liquid cooling systems to support continuous operation. They provide low-ripple DC output and high input power quality, making them suitable for renewable energy-based electrolysis. These features are critical for stabilizing alkaline electrolysis, improving efficiency, controlling harmonic distortion, and ensuring reliable operation under variable solar and renewable energy conditions.

Statcon Energiaa stated that this order reflects its long-standing commitment to domestic power electronics manufacturing. With over 37 years of experience, the company has supplied rectifiers for green hydrogen projects, including NTPC's green hydrogen mobility project in Leh. It has also provided power systems for defense, solar, and industrial applications, with over 30,000 installations across more than 25 countries.
