en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nixxy and Tachyon 9 plan to collaborate on building a data center campus in North Dakota with a total investment of $1 billion and a capacity of up to 1GW.

The project is located in the North Dakota Energy Corridor, covering approximately 620 acres. The campus design utilizes Baker Hughes hydrogen turbines for behind-the-meter power generation, equipped with pre-combustion carbon capture options, aiming to gradually reduce carbon intensity. The project's energy strategy will leverage a hydrogen-rich fuel mixture generated from natural gas (which would otherwise be flared). Additionally, a closed-loop liquid cooling system is expected to be deployed, which circulates initially injected water without continuously drawing from freshwater resources.
The first 120–150MW of computing capacity is planned to go online in the second quarter of 2027, subject to financing, regulatory approvals, and the completion of the Nixxy and Tachyon 9 transaction. The long-term target is 1GW. Nixxy stated that the project is expected to qualify under the U.S. government's Fourth State Initiative, as per the Clean Hydrogen Tax Credit Section 45V.
Shahal Khan, CEO of Tachyon 9, stated that stable on-site power, a path to low-carbon operations, and significantly reduced water consumption represent what the next generation of artificial intelligence infrastructure should look like. Tachyon 9 will contribute approximately $64 million in equipment, land option rights for the Nakota project, and a signed letter of intent for the entire 1GW development to the merger. The combined entity will be listed on Nasdaq.
Nixxy pivoted to artificial intelligence in 2024 and completed the acquisition of edge data center assets from Everythink Innovations Limited (EIL), a telecommunications and edge infrastructure provider with operations in Fremont, California, and Vancouver, Canada, in the same year. The company was formerly known as Recruiter.com Group, Inc.
