en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tech company Salesforce, together with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, has jointly established an international commission aimed at promoting the adoption, trust, and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The "AI for Good Global Commission" brings together over 40 founding members, including heads of state and government, business leaders, and representatives of UN agencies. The commission aims to develop practical measures to enhance trust in AI, expand its reach, and promote the application of this technology in addressing global challenges.

The initiators noted that the commission seeks to bridge the gap between policymakers and those responsible for the development and implementation of AI technologies, encourage responsible solutions, and ensure the participation of developing countries.

The initiative comes against the backdrop of approximately 2.2 billion people worldwide still lacking access to digital technology. Organizers believe this reality could exacerbate inequalities among countries in reaping the benefits of AI. One of the commission's main goals is to help narrow this digital divide and steer AI development toward the public good.

The commission will be co-chaired by Paul Kagame and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. The Rwandan President stated that technology "should be a force for good," while Marc Benioff emphasized that AI development also depends on establishing an environment of trust.

The first meeting of the "AI for Good Global Commission" is scheduled to take place from July 7 to 10, 2026, during the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland. The summit, hosted by the ITU, is part of the UN Digital Week, which will also feature the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance and the WSIS 2026 Forum.
