en.Wedoany.com Reported - Montreal, July 9, 2026 — Nordex welcomes the submission of the Integrated Energy Resource Management Plan (IERMP) by the province of Quebec, considering it a significant milestone in the province's long-term energy development planning.

The plan clearly outlines Quebec's evolving energy needs and places renewable energy at its core. Through this initiative, the Quebec government is creating conditions to foster investment, develop the workforce, and strengthen the province's expertise in the wind energy sector.

"Quebec has all the assets needed to solidify its position as a North American leader in wind energy. The Integrated Energy Resource Management Plan (IERMP) establishes a long-term vision that helps achieve this goal while enabling the entire wind energy ecosystem to prepare and invest sustainably," said Sabrina Harbec, Head of Corporate Relations for Nordex North America.

As the birthplace of Canada's wind energy industry, Quebec boasts recognized expertise, a high level of knowledge accumulation, and a robust industrial ecosystem. It is no coincidence that Nordex has made Quebec a cornerstone of its growth strategy in Canada. The company's current projects in Quebec account for nearly 60% of its Canadian portfolio, with an installed capacity exceeding 1.2 GW, and its Canadian headquarters are located in Montreal.

In Nordex's view, successful energy development relies on close coordination among project owners, manufacturers, suppliers, transmission operators, and developers. In this context, predictability of future energy demand is crucial for the industry to plan investments, secure manufacturing capacity, develop workforce skills, and ensure timely delivery of equipment needed for projects.

"The IERMP sends a positive signal to the entire industry. Predictable planning not only helps meet Quebec's growing energy needs but also strengthens a robust supply chain capable of supporting this growth," Harbec added.

Nordex fully aligns with the Quebec government's ambition to position the province as a leader in the energy transition and reaffirms its commitment to continue working with Hydro-Québec, the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE), government partners, communities, and industry stakeholders to support a strong, innovative wind energy industry that creates lasting value for Quebec.

Since 1985, the Nordex Group has installed over 64 GW of wind power capacity in more than 40 markets, with consolidated sales of approximately €7.6 billion in 2025. The company currently employs over 11,100 people, with a manufacturing network encompassing factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the United States. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ class, designed to meet market demands in countries with limited space and regions with constrained grid capacity. A global service network ensures smooth turbine operation. Nordex SE is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in Germany (ISIN: DE000A0D6554).
