en.Wedoany.com Reported - Arianne Phosphate Inc. of Canada has sent samples of purified phosphoric acid to potential customers for testing, with the samples produced at its Lac à Paul project in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. The company previously announced that it had successfully produced the samples at pilot scale, combining Arianne's high-purity, low-contaminant phosphate concentrate with Travertine Technologies' proprietary process, a key feature of which is the recovery of the sulfuric acid used during the production of purified phosphoric acid.

Internal tests on the resulting purified phosphoric acid indicate that the product meets specifications for various technological applications, including lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Following this milestone, samples have been sent to potential customers from three different industries for evaluation.

These potential customers include a cathode active material (CAM) producer for LFP battery end uses, a diversified industrial chemicals manufacturer that uses purified phosphoric acid in water treatment and pulp and paper applications, and a specialized liquid fertilizer producer. The upcoming tests represent the first step in the qualification process required to secure commercial contracts for the product.

The company stated that the samples have generated significant interest due to strong market demand for new sources of purified phosphoric acid. Brian Ostroff, Director of Strategy and Business Planning at Arianne Phosphate, noted that surging demand from new applications such as LFP, combined with existing demand from the pharmaceutical, agricultural, electronics, and food industries, has made the procurement of purified phosphoric acid critical. At the same time, geopolitical tensions have constrained access to essential materials and prompted a rethinking of traditional supply chains.

While testing of the purified phosphoric acid continues over the coming weeks, the company is advancing construction of its demonstration plant, which will be capable of producing larger quantities of material for sampling by other companies.
