en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, 2026, the EU-co-funded metaCCAZE project is developing and testing electric, automated, and connected shared zero-emission mobility solutions for people and goods in four cities—Amsterdam, Munich, Limassol, and Tampere—aiming to fundamentally transform passenger and freight transport in European cities, achieving climate neutrality and efficient mobility.

Successful technologies and measures will subsequently be rolled out and implemented in six follower cities: Athens, Krakow, Gozo, Milan, Miskolc, and Poissy/Yvelines (Paris region). As a project partner, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum coordinates dissemination and exploitation activities, including designing the project's corporate identity, managing cross-cutting communication channels such as the website, newsletter, and social media, and supporting cities in developing local communication strategies.

The metaCCAZE project is funded by the Horizon Europe program, supporting cities in developing sustainable mobility and urban logistics innovation solutions that can be replicated across Europe. In Munich, the capital city, in collaboration with chambers of commerce and industry associations, has selected delivery zones in areas with high commercial transport demand for the pilot, aiming to identify which user groups intensively use the service and predict locations where solutions will be needed in the future.

Partners involved in the Munich pilot include: Smart City System GmbH, responsible for providing and operating occupancy sensors; Stadtraum GmbH, responsible for providing and operating the mo2B application; the Technical University of Munich (TUM), responsible for scientific guidance and evaluation of the pilot; and DB Schenker, responsible for testing logistics applications and operational use cases. metaCCAZE is also part of the CIVITAS initiative, funded by the European Union, which promotes sustainable and smart transport and contributes to the goals of the EU Mission "Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities."
