India's GUVNL Announces Results of 250 MW Wind Power Project Auction

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) announced on July 12, 2026, the winners of its power procurement auction for a 250 MW grid-connected wind power project (Phase XI). NLC India Renewables secured 100 MW of project capacity, while Juniper Green Energy and Powerica each won 50 MW, with all three companies concluding deals at a tariff of INR 3.51 per kWh. Cu-Built Renewable Energy obtained the remaining 50 MW at a tariff of INR 3.52 per kWh. GUVNL will sign 25-year power purchase agreements with the winning bidders. The tender was issued in May 2026.

The tender guidelines stipulate that developers are responsible for constructing the grid-connected wind power project, including transmission facilities to connect the project to the network of the Central Transmission Utility or the State Transmission Utility. The project site is to be determined by the winning bidders within India, with all associated costs, risks, and liabilities borne by the bidders. Only wind turbine models approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy are permitted for use, and these models must be listed in the ministry's wind turbine model and manufacturer list.

In July 2026, GUVNL also signed a power purchase agreement with SJVN Limited to procure green electricity generated from the latter's hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh. The projects involved include the 66 MW Dhaulasidh hydropower project, the 210 MW Luhri Stage-I hydropower project, and the 382 MW Sunni Dam hydropower project.
