en.Wedoany.com Reported - Russian e-commerce platform Ozon has announced the advancement of a major infrastructure plan to build a full-process logistics center covering over 100,000 square meters in the Altai Krai region. Once completed, the logistics center is expected to accommodate 25 million items, process hundreds of thousands of orders daily, and be equipped with high-speed automated sorting equipment, achieving sorting efficiency 2 to 3 times that of manual operations.
As a key transit hub in Russia's Far East, the construction of this logistics center in Altai Krai holds strategic significance for improving the regional logistics network. Combined with the existing 1,500-plus pickup points in the region, the new logistics center will help enhance urban and rural delivery networks, shorten the cycle of product warehousing, sorting, and last-mile delivery, and reduce the final-mile logistics losses and operational costs of cross-border goods. The deployment of automated equipment will effectively improve the efficiency of goods turnover.
Ozon's investment in Altai Krai is based on the rapid growth of the region's e-commerce market. Data shows that in the first half of 2026, Ozon's order volume in Altai Krai increased by 2.2 times year-on-year, active users grew by over 30%, and the number of orders per user rose by 60%. Among these, 47% of orders came from small towns with populations under 50,000, and orders from villages and towns increased by 130% year-on-year. The number of local merchants exceeded 2,700, with total turnover in the first half of the year reaching 3.3 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 45%.
Once the logistics center is operational, the efficiency of inventory preparation and regional distribution for Chinese cross-border merchants in the Russian market is expected to further improve. Ozon is strengthening its support capabilities in the Russia-China cross-border e-commerce logistics sector through infrastructure construction.
