en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hannan Metals has submitted an Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) for its wholly-owned Amanecer gold-copper project in Peru, seeking authorization to launch its initial drilling program at the Previsto prospect. The DIA is the primary environmental requirement for drilling operations in Peru. The company plans to establish 18 drill platforms at the Previsto Central and Inca Garcilazo prospects, totaling 7,650 meters of diamond drilling, with final approval and related permits expected in the first quarter of 2027.

The project has attracted attention for hosting Peru's first documented gold-copper alkaline epithermal system, a deposit type known for concentrating some of the world's largest and highest-grade gold deposits. Within the 5x5 km Previsto area, two main work zones totaling 361.4 hectares have been delineated, while the planned intervention footprint is only 2.3 hectares.
The Environmental Impact Statement has been submitted to the General Directorate of Mining Environmental Affairs (DGAAM) of Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines. As part of the approval process, Hannan Metals conducted environmental studies, archaeological surveys, citizen participation activities, and meetings with local communities. Additionally, the company obtained technical information for the Certificate of Non-Existence of Archaeological Remains (CIRA) to confirm that the proposed activities will not affect archaeological sites.
Hannan Metals CEO Michael Hudson stated that submitting the DIA is a critical step toward initiating drilling at Previsto and advancing the assessment of the project's primary objectives. He noted that the company has discovered Peru's first documented gold-copper alkaline epithermal system on the property, which belongs to the same deposit type as gold mines such as Porgera in Papua New Guinea and Cripple Creek in Colorado. This submission will enable systematic drill testing of priority targets within the area.
Geological studies conducted by Hannan Metals have confirmed that Previsto exhibits characteristics of a porphyry-epithermal alkaline system, a rare deposit type with similarities to internationally significant gold deposits. Results to date include hydrothermal breccias containing high-grade gold and silver, the presence of fluorite, adularia alteration, and syenite porphyry, all of which enhance the project's potential.
The Previsto prospect was first identified in 2021 during Hannan Metals' regional exploration program. Since then, the project has evolved into a highly prospective gold-copper system area, with eight porphyry and epithermal exploration targets now identified.
