en.Wedoany.com Reported - Argentina's National Communications Commission (Enacom) is building a national early warning system (AlertAR) based on cell broadcast technology through a public tender. The agency published the tender notice on July 14, with plans to open bids and select the winning company on July 22.
The tender, numbered EX-2026-66371046- -APN-AECYC#ENACOM, is a turnkey project. In addition to obtaining the relevant permits, the winning company is responsible for system implementation, installation, configuration, launch, training, knowledge transfer, maintenance, technical support, hosting services, and comprehensive project management.
Argentina's National Communications Commission stated on its official website that the system can simultaneously send alert messages to mobile phones within a specific geographic area without requiring users to subscribe in advance, making it a strategic tool for emergency management, natural disasters, extreme weather events, and other situations requiring rapid public notification.
The tender consultation period runs from July 14 to July 16, with interested companies required to submit quotes by July 22. Bids will be opened at 11:30 on that day to determine the project contractor, with funding from the Universal Service Fund (FSU).
Argentina's National Communications Commission summarized that the implementation of AlertAR is the result of collaboration between the commission and the Ministry of National Security, aimed at introducing technological tools to strengthen prevention, emergency response, and personnel protection nationwide.
Three weeks after a natural disaster occurred in Venezuela, Argentina is advancing the necessary steps to ensure that communication systems become a key tool for saving lives.
