en.Wedoany.com Reported - Talnode-C, the anode material from Sweden's Vittangi Anode Project, is poised to enter Japan's high-performance battery market. ASX-listed Talga Group has signed a strategic letter of intent with Japanese materials company Dainen Materials to supply its flagship Talnode-C anode material from the Swedish project in the future.
This non-binding letter of intent represents a significant commercial outcome following over five years of technical collaboration between the two parties. They plan to negotiate a binding term sheet by September 2026 and finalize a strategic anode offtake agreement by December 2026, targeting the world's most demanding lithium-ion battery manufacturers.
The collaboration will focus on advancing further certification of Talnode-C for battery applications in Japan. Dainen will continue to evaluate Talga's supply chain transparency, ESG credentials, carbon footprint, and non-Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) status. Additionally, Dainen will use its best efforts to support Talga in engaging with Japanese investors and assist in securing co-financing for the Vittangi Anode Project.
Talga CEO Martin Phillips stated that as demand for secure and sustainable graphite supply chains grows, this agreement strengthens the company's market position. Dainen Vice President Daisuke Hayabara noted that this collaboration builds on a solid foundation laid over five years of partnership. Dainen supplies anode active materials to major Japanese automotive, energy storage, and electronics manufacturers, while Talga is developing proprietary graphite purification, shaping, and coating technologies aimed at delivering high-performance, low-emission anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Although the letter of intent is non-binding and is not currently expected to have a material financial impact, this potential partnership presents a significant commercial opportunity for Talga.
