en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and the Hire Association Europe (HAE) have reached a reciprocal membership arrangement, with each organisation becoming a member of the other, to strengthen cooperation between the UK's two leading industry trade bodies in the construction equipment and hire sectors.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will become members of each other, creating a stronger platform for communication to share insights, coordinate activities, and jointly address issues affecting their respective members and the wider industry.

The CEA represents around 150 companies across the construction equipment supply chain, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), component and attachment manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and specialist service providers. The HAE represents approximately 700 members in the hire industry, of which around 100 are OEMs and suppliers.

This arrangement reflects the close links between the construction equipment manufacturing, supply, and hire sectors, and builds on areas where the two associations and their members already share common interests, including equipment crime prevention, asset management, and the continued promotion of the CEA's CESAR scheme — the UK's official security and registration scheme for construction and agricultural equipment.

The reciprocal arrangement will also facilitate closer information sharing, policy discussions, and collaboration on future industry priorities.

Viki Bell, Chief Executive of the CEA, said there is a natural fit between the CEA and HAE, with both organisations representing businesses operating in the construction equipment supply chain. She noted that this agreement provides a stronger foundation for sharing knowledge and jointly addressing issues of critical importance to members, and that closer working between the two associations will help manufacturers, suppliers, and hire companies speak with a more unified voice as the industry navigates future challenges and opportunities.

Paul Gaze, Chief Executive of the HAE, said the HAE already works closely with the CEA on a range of issues including theft, asset management, and taxation, and that reciprocal membership is a natural next step. He said the HAE has many OEM and supplier members, and this relationship underscores its support for the hire supply chain; trade bodies can achieve more by working together.

The two associations anticipate that the reciprocal membership arrangement will develop into a broader programme of cooperation to support their respective members and further strengthen the links between the construction equipment and hire industries.
