The two parties plan to deploy Quantinuum's Helios quantum computer at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI data centers within the United States, providing customer access through the OCI Quantum Service, and building a hybrid computing environment that connects quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing resources.

Under the collaboration plan agreed upon by both parties, OCI customers can directly access Helios through the Quantum Service and combine it with OCI's existing GPU, high-performance computing, networking, storage, identity, and data services. Helios will be installed within OCI infrastructure, and related workloads can leverage OCI's existing governance and access control systems, eliminating the need for customers to procure quantum computing equipment or build dedicated operating facilities.

Helios entered commercial service in November 2025 and is Quantinuum's third-generation trapped-ion quantum computer. The system features 98 physical qubits and has completed demonstrations involving 48 logical qubits, achieving an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%. Its system architecture supports integration with traditional high-performance computing and AI infrastructure, providing the hardware foundation for data exchange between quantum and classical computing tasks.

Oracle plans to launch the OCI Quantum Service preview in the coming months. The service is intended to integrate Quantinuum's software development tools and support open-source hybrid programming frameworks, enabling developers to build and test quantum-classical applications in a simulated environment before submitting tasks to Helios quantum computing hardware for execution. The specific deployment date for Helios has not yet been determined.

The two parties plan to initially open the relevant computing capabilities to enterprises, AI labs, universities, and research institutions, with application areas including drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics scheduling, large-scale optimization, and AI workloads. The OCI Quantum Service will bring quantum processors, GPUs, and traditional high-performance computing resources into the same cloud infrastructure, allowing users to invoke the appropriate resources based on different computing tasks.
