Wedoany.com Report-Jun 19, Brazil has recorded strong growth in egg exports in recent months, according to the latest data from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein Producers (ABPA). In May 2025, the country exported 5,358 tons of eggs—both fresh and processed—marking a 295.8% increase compared to May 2024, when 1,354 tons were shipped. This represents a record monthly performance for the sector.

In financial terms, egg export revenue also surged. In May 2025, earnings reached USD 13.756 million, up 356.2% from USD 3.015 million in the same month of the previous year. Cumulative revenue for the first five months of 2025 totaled USD 42.1 million, a 195.8% increase compared to the USD 14.235 million earned during the same period in 2024.

The United States has emerged as Brazil’s largest egg importer. Between January and May 2025, Brazilian egg exports to the U.S. reached 9,735 tons, a year-on-year increase of 996%, highlighting the growing demand for Brazilian products in the North American market.

Other key destinations include Chile, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and Mexico. Exports to Chile reached 2,354 tons from January to May 2025, up 10.8% compared to the previous year. Japan increased its imports by 160.9% to 1,422 tons. Exports to the United Arab Emirates declined by 13.8% during the same period, also totaling 1,422 tons.

Looking at month-on-month changes, the United States imported 4,166 tons of Brazilian eggs in May 2025 alone, a 1,384% rise compared to May 2024. Japan imported 205 tons, a 132.7% increase. Chile recorded a 22.3% drop in monthly imports, totaling 534 tons. Angola, although not previously listed as a consistent importer, purchased 102 tons in May 2025, indicating emerging demand in new regions.

Several factors contribute to this rapid growth. The improvement in egg production standards and adoption of advanced technology have enhanced Brazil’s competitiveness in the global market. Additionally, developments in logistics and marketing have enabled producers to access new international buyers more efficiently.

Brazil’s steady rise in egg exports is positively influencing its agricultural sector and overall economy. With current momentum and growing interest from markets such as the U.S. and Japan, Brazil is well-positioned to strengthen its role as a key global supplier in the egg industry. Continued investment in quality, innovation, and international outreach is likely to support further expansion in the coming months.
