Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 13, On August 6, BYD introduced its ATTO 1 electric vehicle at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 in Kathmandu, as announced on BYD’s WeChat account. The launch highlights the alignment of China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) technology with Nepal’s efforts to promote sustainable transportation, offering an affordable and low-maintenance electric option for local consumers.
Zhang Jie, Deputy General Manager of BYD’s Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, stated: “The Nepalese government has shown vision and determination in advancing renewable energy and low-carbon transport.” He noted that the ATTO 1 supports Nepal’s goals by reducing transport sector emissions. BYD plans to expand local service networks and charging infrastructure to enhance accessibility and convenience for Nepalese drivers adopting electric mobility.
The ATTO 1 has been tailored to suit Nepal’s unique conditions. Equipped with BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery technology, the vehicle offers a range of up to 300 km under the WLTP cycle, suitable for urban commutes and short trips in mountainous regions. The model features a high-clearance chassis and reinforced suspension, designed to navigate Nepal’s diverse and rugged terrain effectively.
The debut of the ATTO 1 at the expo marks a significant step in Nepal’s transition toward sustainable transportation.
