Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 28, On September 25, 2025, BYD introduced the second-generation Qin PLUS in China, unveiling three new variants: the Qin PLUS DM-i 128KM Advance Edition and the Qin PLUS EV 420km and 510km Advance Editions. Priced between 79,800 and 99,800 yuan, a limited-time National Day promotional offer reduces the starting price to 69,800 yuan.
The updated Qin PLUS features BYD’s signature “LOONG FACE” design, with refined headlamps and raised hood lines for a sporty look. A large grille with a dotted pattern and a new “Galaxy Beige” color enhance its modern appeal. The vehicle measures 4,780 mm long, 1,837 mm wide, and 1,515 mm high, with a 2,718 mm wheelbase. Side profiles offer customizable alloy wheels, blacked-out mirrors, and window trims, while the rear includes full-width taillights and a ducktail spoiler for improved nighttime visibility.
Interior upgrades include a column-mounted electronic shifter and an enhanced parking system supporting front-in, rear-out maneuvers, automatic mirror folding in tight spaces, and offset parking assistance. The smart cabin enables mobile-to-car connectivity for screen mirroring, video playback, music continuity, navigation, and privacy mode. BYD plans to introduce additional features via software updates, such as a pet-themed interface, gaming hub, karaoke without a microphone, and voice-controlled games.
The Qin PLUS offers battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrains. The EV variants feature a 100 kW electric motor with CLTC-rated ranges of 420 km or 510 km. The DM-i variant combines a 74 kW gasoline engine with a 120 kW electric motor and a 15.8 kWh battery, delivering a 128 km electric range and a total range of up to 2,055 km with a full tank and charge. Its fuel consumption is approximately 2.69 liters per 100 km under NEDC conditions, and fast charging can reach 80% capacity in about 30 minutes.
The launch strengthens BYD’s position in the new energy vehicle market, offering consumers affordable, efficient, and technologically advanced options. The Qin PLUS is expected to drive demand in China’s automotive sector, supporting sustainable transportation and economic growth through innovative design and performance.
