Wedoany.com Report-Dec.13, Belgian construction group BESIX has completed a significant phase in building the Triangle skyscraper in Paris, France, with the final concrete pour on the 40th floor. This event concludes three and a half years of concrete-related activities.

The Triangle will include offices, a Radisson Blu hotel, retail outlets, and a medical centre.

The project converts a confined site measuring 200 meters by 45 meters into a prominent tower that will reach 180 meters in height upon completion.

Throughout the structural phase, approximately 70,000 cubic meters of concrete were utilized, along with the installation of around 2,000 columns and over 1,600 precast beams, supplemented by several hundred beams poured in place. The total surface area of concrete slabs now exceeds 90,000 square meters.

Of the intended 8,300 facade panels, more than 6,600 have already been positioned.

Present efforts involve technical and architectural teams equipping three underground levels and all 40 floors with necessary systems and interior finishes.

Starting from December 1, work has progressed to the tower's uppermost section—the final four levels constructed from steel—which will finalize its distinctive outline against the Paris horizon.

BESIX acts as the primary contractor for the Triangle development, commissioned by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. The architectural concept originates from Herzog & de Meuron.

BESIX Engineering handled detailed planning and coordination to minimize impact on surrounding areas and continues to supervise design studies for the structure and exterior envelope.

The completed facility will house office spaces, a Radisson Blu hotel, commercial areas, a healthcare center, childcare facilities, conference venues, cultural areas, and a public observation platform with dining options.

Sustainability objectives include achieving Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method Outstanding and HQE Exceptional ratings, alongside adherence to the Effinergie standard.

Features incorporated comprise geothermal energy utilization, double-skin facades, photovoltaic panels spanning 1,000 square meters, connection to district heating networks, and the use of recycled materials in components such as aluminum cladding.

The initiative is projected to generate approximately 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities over its duration.

BESIX collaborates with engineering partners Setec for structural aspects, Egis for building services, and Artelia for overall project oversight.

Full handover of the Triangle tower is planned for 2026.

BESIX France project director Koen De Rooy said: "We don't always take the time to appreciate the full extent of the effort involved, but at this key moment in the project, we want to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone, past and present, who has worked relentlessly to get us to this point. Thank you! Now let’s tackle the next challenges together!"
