The Turkish chemical raw materials industry has recently proposed an export target for 2026, aiming to achieve annual exports of $35 billion. Adil Pelister, President of the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association, stated that this goal is based on the progress the industry made in 2025.

In 2025, Turkey exported chemical raw materials and related products to 238 countries and regions, with industry exports reaching $31.9 billion, accounting for 13.5% of Turkey's total exports. Among the sub-sectors, plastics and plastic products ranked first with $9.6 billion. Pelister pointed out: "The 8.8% decrease in import value indicates a reduced dependence on foreign chemical raw materials and intermediates." Among the major export markets, exports to the UAE saw a significant increase, rising 346% year-on-year to $1.3 billion.

To increase its share in the international market, the association plans to organize 42 trade promotion events in 25 countries in 2026. These initiatives aim to support the industry in achieving the set export target and further expanding the global market network for chemical raw materials.
