On December 30, 2025, the first turbine was successfully installed for the 1.1-gigawatt wind power EPC project in Egypt's Gulf of Suez, undertaken by PowerChina.

The 1.1-gigawatt Gulf of Suez Wind Power Project in Egypt is the first gigawatt-scale onshore wind power EPC project undertaken by PowerChina in the Middle East and North Africa region. It involves the installation of 138 wind turbine units, each with a capacity of 8 megawatts. Upon completion, the project will be of great significance for optimizing Egypt's energy structure, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and promoting green, low-carbon economic and social development. It represents a crucial practice in advancing green energy cooperation under the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
