AIM-listed Oriole Resources has provided an update on its Mbe gold project in Cameroon, announcing the successful completion of the first diamond drilling program at the MB01-N target area, with a total meterage of 3,000 meters.
The drilling program commenced in November 2025, primarily aimed at testing the resource potential of the MB01-N target area. This target area is located approximately 700 meters northeast of the MB01-S deposit. Oriole Resources previously reported that the MB01-S deposit is compliant with the Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) Code, with an estimated Inferred Mineral Resource of 24.8 million tonnes at a grade of 1.09 g/t Au, containing approximately 870,000 ounces of gold.
According to company data, the MB01-N target area has a JORC Exploration Target ranging from 15 to 20 million tonnes, with a gold grade between 0.77 g/t and 0.94 g/t, and an estimated contained gold of 370,000 to 605,000 ounces. This provides significant potential for growth in the overall resource of the Mbe gold project.
Oriole Resources stated that this drilling program aims to advance the exploration target towards a JORC-compliant resource to optimize the project's development prospects.
Furthermore, the company confirmed that, in accordance with the relevant agreements, the Sub-Saharan African mining company BCM has acquired a 50% beneficial interest in the Mbe gold project. Administrative procedures to formalize this interest are currently underway, including the drafting of a joint venture agreement.
