en.Wedoany.com Reported - The first phase of the Treasure Island redevelopment project in San Francisco, USA, has been completed, with the official opening of the 490 Palm Avenue apartment building. Developed by the Treasure Island Development Group (in partnership with Lennar Corporation, Stockbridge Capital Group, and Wilson Meany), this project adds 148 apartments to the man-made island located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay.

This six-story building is the first apartment complex on Treasure Island, featuring 148 residences. Among them, 34 are known as the "Palms Collection" front-row apartments, offering optimal views and services such as housekeeping, chef-prepared meals delivered to the Tea Academy, a dedicated property team, complimentary booking at The Paddle Club, and electric bike rentals. Other amenities include a courtyard, fitness center, communal gathering spaces, and three open-air landscaped terraces.
Chris Meany, co-CEO of Treasure Island Community Development, stated that the new community is launching as other new communities on the island are nearly fully leased, and new parks, roads, and open spaces have been completed. "490 Palm Avenue arrives as our other new communities are nearly fully leased, and the island's new parks, roads, and open spaces are complete," he said. "It also meets the growing demand for a more livable lifestyle, offering every resident a forward-thinking, hotel-serviced residential rental experience, with the front-row series taking that service to a higher level." The residences are managed by Sentral, whose Creative Development Lead, Kū Nakanelua, noted that the team focuses on eliminating "friction in daily life," whether coordinating wellness experiences, helping residents make the most of the island, or handling small tasks that consume time and energy, with the goal of creating a personalized and effortless living experience.

The project design was a collaboration between Mark Cavagnero Associates and Fougeron Architecture. Cavagnero stated that the design was guided by the site's natural environment and the desire to connect residents with the outdoors, aiming to shape the living experience in close dialogue with the bay, the city, and the island's changing light, adopting a more grounded perspective to foster authentic connections with the landscape, water, and community. Anne Fougeron, principal of Fougeron Architecture, noted that the idea behind the portal is to give every resident, regardless of their floor, a direct visual connection to the bay and the city beyond.

Construction was managed by a joint venture between Guzman and Suffolk. The first phase has introduced a new skyline to the island, which was built in 1939, with the tallest building being the 22-story Isle House. The highest residences are located on Yerba Buena Island, either within the six-story Bristol apartment building overlooking the eastern span of the Bay Bridge or in adjacent townhomes.

Upon full completion, Treasure Island is expected to provide 8,000 homes in new high-density neighborhoods, including 2,700 permanently affordable housing units, hotel rooms, offices, retail space, and approximately 300 acres of public open space.
