Wedoany.com Report on Mar 2nd, The Ras Al-Sukhra urban infrastructure project, located in the Al-Rabi area of the Jazir region, has been completed. Implemented by the Al-Markaz Governorate Municipality, the project covers an area of approximately 20,000 square meters with a cost of 841,000 Omani Rials, marking a new advancement in the governorate's public facility development. Engineer Marwan bin Abdullah Al-Farsi, Assistant Director General of the Al-Markaz Governorate Municipality, told the Oman News Agency that the project follows a comprehensive vision integrating aesthetics, service, and environmental sustainability, aligning with the development goals of Al-Markaz Governorate.

The project features a waterfront walkway with rest areas, a dedicated seawater desalination plant, four shaded rest areas, green spaces, and a children's playground meeting safety standards. Supporting facilities also include two separate prayer rooms for men and women, and a rainwater drainage network designed to enhance the sustainability of urban infrastructure. Extensive afforestation work carried out along the waterfront adds environmental value, creating spaces for picnics, leisure, and community gatherings.
The Ras Al-Sukhra urban infrastructure project is expected to promote domestic leisure tourism, support social activities for residents and visitors, and increase local investment opportunities in coastal service industries. This is part of the Al-Markaz Governorate Municipality's commitment to developing public facilities and creating an integrated urban environment that aligns with the governorate's sustainable development goals.
