On February 28, the Cangwu to Rongxian Expressway, invested and constructed by Guangxi Communications Investment Group, officially opened to traffic. This project is a vital component of the "Link 14 Line" Wuzhou-Yulin-Qinzhou Highway outlined in the "Guangxi Expressway Network Plan (2018-2030)" and also serves as a rapid corridor between Wuzhou City and Yulin City.

The project starts at Daoshui Town, Changzhou District, Wuzhou City, passing through Cangwu County, Teng County, Cenxi City, and Rong County in Yulin City, with its terminus at Shili Town, Rong County. The mainline has a total length of 105.3 kilometers and was constructed according to the standard for a two-way, four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Additionally, 15.7 kilometers of connecting roads were built concurrently. The entire route features 108 bridges and 22 tunnels, resulting in a bridge-tunnel ratio of 50.2%. It includes 9 interchanges, 2 service areas, and 6 toll stations.

The full opening of the Cangrong Expressway efficiently connects the Wuliu Expressway and the Guangkun Expressway, two major arteries, significantly reducing the travel time between Wuzhou and Yulin to under one hour. A relevant person in charge from Guangxi Rongwu Expressway Co., Ltd. stated that the completion of the project further densifies Guangxi's expressway network and opens up the industrial and logistics corridor linking Wuzhou, Yulin, and Qinzhou. Simultaneously, the expressway provides a rapid sales channel for specialty agricultural products from the areas it traverses, such as Liubao tea and Shatian pomelos, enabling these high-quality local products to reach markets across the country more quickly.

The opening of this project is of great significance for deepening the coordinated development between the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt, as well as promoting the integrated development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
