JK Cement Limited has officially commissioned its new 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) grey cement grinding unit in Buxar, Bihar, India. This move strengthens the company's manufacturing network in Eastern India and underscores its commitment to supporting local infrastructure and construction industry development.

The facility was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, under the guidance of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The event, marking the formal commencement of operations for this new manufacturing unit in Bihar, was attended by Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Bihar's Minister for Industries and Road Construction, and Dr. Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman of JK Cement Limited.

Located along the Patna-Buxar highway and spanning approximately 100 acres, the plant has an annual capacity of 3 million tonnes. This cement grinding unit is expected to enhance cement supply capabilities in Bihar and surrounding regions, supporting the advancement of infrastructure projects, residential developments, and commercial construction activities.

With a total investment of around INR 50 billion, the project's construction began in March 2025, adding a new element to Bihar's industrial landscape. The new manufacturing unit is anticipated to create employment opportunities both directly and indirectly, fostering local economic progress while also stimulating growth in ancillary industries related to construction and the cement supply chain.

The Buxar cement grinding unit aligns with JK Cement's strategy of expanding in high-growth markets through localized manufacturing. Previously, the company primarily relied on its facility in Prayagraj to supply cement to Bihar. Establishing a production base in Bihar is expected to improve supply efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance service responsiveness to customers and project developers.

As infrastructure development and urban construction in Bihar accelerate, the Buxar cement grinding unit is set to play a crucial role in meeting the region's growing cement demand, while further solidifying JK Cement's market position in Eastern India.
