Wedoany.com Report on Mar 11th, Galliford Try has formally signed a £28 million construction contract to build 126 social rented apartments at the City Place site in Chester. This construction contract is for a project located on Charterhall Drive, adjacent to the Shropshire Union Canal and the Grade II listed Chester Shot Tower, and plans to provide 23 one-bedroom and 103 two-bedroom apartments. This construction contract is part of the broader City Place masterplan.

According to the construction contract, work will officially commence this month, with Clarion's development arm, Latimer, overseeing Galliford Try's construction delivery. The project's architectural design standards require complete elimination of fossil fuel use. All homes are expected to achieve a minimum EPC B energy efficiency rating and will be equipped with 100% electric vehicle charging facilities. The signing of this construction contract marks a new phase in Chester's social housing construction.
