en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, Belgian composite solutions supplier Coexpair has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with US defense and aerospace subcontractor Lockheed Martin to jointly explore the production of advanced composite components for the F-35 stealth fighter in Belgium. According to the agreement, Coexpair will adopt a phased approach, utilizing its technology and software to design and test representative components, while Lockheed Martin will assist with process certification.
André Bertin, President of Coexpair, stated: "Coexpair is proud to collaborate with Lockheed Martin, a major driver of composite advancements. This is recognition for Coexpair's research and innovation team. This framework creates new opportunities for us to sell Belgian-made equipment and tooling to globally strategic defense and warehousing projects."
Coexpair plans to establish a Center of Manufacturing Excellence based on its SQRTM 4.0 solution, initially in Belgium in partnership with local aerospace groups. This solution integrates equipment and software for full automation; the software suite Maestro synchronizes equipment, manages production data, and includes process simulation and AI optimization features. It is already used by companies like Airbus. Reportedly, this technology can improve component quality and performance, reduce costs by 30%, cut energy consumption fourfold, and reduce waste tenfold.
Coexpair's growth is supported by the Belgian Minister of Defense and the Minister of Economy of Wallonia. The company currently employs 44 people and supplies equipment worth approximately €10 million annually. The company anticipates that with the launch of more environmentally friendly commercial aircraft, it has the potential to become a fast-growing enterprise with a turnover of €50 million.
