The newly built LNG terminal, serving as a key import facility in West Africa, will supply natural gas to the 300 MW combined-cycle power plant in the Cap des Biches area of Dakar—Senegal's largest power plant—as well as to several other power plants, industrial users, and various clients. This project will help Senegal advance its energy structure transformation, promoting economic and industrial development through diversified fuel sources.

Babacar Tall, CEO of ELTON Logistics & Services, stated: "This terminal is a crucial initiative to enhance Senegal's energy security and accelerate industrial growth. We are pleased to partner with GasEntec, a company with an international reputation in LNG regasification."

GasEntec Chairman Arieh Mimran added: "We are honored to support Senegal's energy transition. The Dakar LNG terminal embodies the country's proactive efforts to drive development." GasEntec Chief Project Officer Joongin Ko noted: "ELTON's adoption of our proprietary technology and modular solutions for the Dakar project demonstrates our capability for rapid deployment and meeting high-standard requirements."

The project was initiated based on a mandate to address the nation's urgent power needs. GasEntec plans to accelerate the achievement of the first gas supply, targeting the terminal to be fully operational in the first half of 2027. Headquartered in South Korea, GasEntec has delivered significant LNG infrastructure in various global regions, serving government, utility, and industrial clients.
