en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fulcrum EnviroTech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fulcrum Metals, has entered into an agreement with Test Design Implement Solutions (TDI) to build and operate an independent pilot plant in Ontario, Canada, for treating mine waste using cyanide-free leaching technology. The pilot facility will apply a metal recovery process developed by Extrakt Process Solutions (Extrakt), initially processing material from Fulcrum's Teck-Hughes project, while also being capable of evaluating other mine waste samples, including those from third parties.

Fulcrum Metals stated that the pilot plant is designed with a processing capacity of 2.4 tons per day. The initial operational phase plans to complete approximately 12 pilot test batches within four weeks. This initiative aims to accumulate the operational, metallurgical, and engineering data necessary for transitioning from laboratory scale to potential commercial applications, supporting the evaluation of subsequent development plans. Bechtel Energy Technologies & Solutions (Bechtel) provides support for the project as part of its existing alliance with Extrakt.

Fulcrum holds exclusive rights to deploy Extrakt's cyanide-free technology at historical gold mine waste sites in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake mining districts of Ontario. These two districts have collectively produced over 110 million ounces of gold in the past 100 years and are estimated to contain more than 70 historical waste sites. Under the contract, TDI will be responsible for supplying, installing, commissioning, and operating the pilot facility, retaining ownership of the equipment. Extrakt provides a non-commercial license for its technology, with Bechtel offering ongoing support. Fulcrum is responsible for site selection, project management, and operations, and is currently evaluating several candidate locations. The contract includes an equipment leasing option to allow continued use for additional testing after the initial plan is completed.

Ryan Mee, CEO of Fulcrum Metals, stated that this is a significant milestone for the company, creating a pathway to commercialize the Teck-Hughes project while establishing a platform capable of supporting future mine waste recovery opportunities. Fulcrum is pleased to collaborate with TDI, Extrakt, and Bechtel to advance the project to its next phase, which is a key step in unlocking the value of historical mine waste assets through a scalable and capital-efficient business model.
