en.Wedoany.com Reported - PepsiCo is expanding the use of autonomous trucks across its North American transportation network. The food and beverage company has entered into a multi-year agreement with autonomous truck delivery technology firm Gatik AI to conduct high-frequency round-trip transportation between its snack and beverage factories, warehouses, and multiple points of sale.

Jim Farrell, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at PepsiCo, stated that serving a vast customer network requires a safe, reliable, and sustainable supply chain. Gatik AI has already been operational within its network, bringing autonomous driving technology, commercial experience, and scale to help strengthen services, increase capacity, and provide customers with more consistent product delivery.
Since partnering with the California-based technology company in 2022, PepsiCo now operates a fleet of 41 autonomous trucks across the U.S. states of Arizona, Texas, and Arkansas. According to the food and beverage giant, this fleet of driverless heavy-duty trucks represents the largest commercial deployment of its kind to date. Gatik data shows that PepsiCo's autonomous trucks achieve an on-time rate exceeding 98%.
To provide Level 4 autonomous trucks to various customers, Gatik has partnered with Japanese automaker Isuzu and microprocessor manufacturer Nvidia, the latter providing AI-enhanced computing technology.
