State Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig announced the news during a visit to Gav-n-view Farm near Lansing. According to IDALS, the program provides dairy farmers with cost-share funding of up to $100,000, aimed at reducing labor input and increasing on-farm production.

In a press release, Naig stated that these grants help dairy farmers add further value to their existing operations by expanding processing capacity, developing new products, and adopting efficiency-enhancing technologies. Ultimately, this puts more fresh, healthy, and nutritious Iowa-produced dairy products on store shelves while strengthening farm businesses and retaining more money in local communities.

Since the program's implementation in 2024, 46 Iowa farms and businesses have received this funding support. The current recipients include Country View Dairy (Hawkeye), Sweet Doe Company (Keota), Frisian Farms Cheese (Leighton), Dutch Girl Dairy, Inc. (Marion), Moore Local (Maquoketa), Bonert and Kennedy Farm LLC (Epworth), Vellema Dairy (Harris), Lango Dairy (Hopkinton), Gav-n-view Farm (Lansing), Dutchland Dairy (Rolfe), and Rolinda Acres Dairy (Waukon).

Robert Horst, President of the Iowa State Dairy Association, stated in the IDALS press release that the association is proud of this investment and the outcomes the grant program has produced in Iowa communities. He noted that the investment has yielded meaningful returns, supporting dairy farm families, encouraging innovation and growth, and making Iowa-made dairy products more accessible to state residents.
